Peregrine Falcon

The Peregrine falcon is the worlds fastest living animal! It goes up to 242(mph). Now that's fast! The Peregrine part of its name from the Greek Latin peregrunis witch means to wander. This falcon eats other birds that means it is a carnivore. Now because it is a carnivore it is called the birds of prey. Peregrine Falcons mainly eat medium sized birds like doves, pigeons, songbirds, and waterfowl. They will also occasionally eat insects, reptiles, bats, and other small mammals. Peregrines live in every continent but except the continent Antarctica. Its lives up to 17-20 years! An adult Peregrine's wingspan is 74-120 cm. This bird grows up to 15-21 inches. The Peregrine falcon's chicks are called eyases. Eyases eat an incredible amount of food - in six days, they double their weight, and at three weeks are ten times their size at birth! You don't want to be fed like that, or  you would be as fat as a house! Now that you now this much zoom out of your house start bragging and get a Peregrine falcon for a little show off.

  3. Hi Snajay,
It was a very interesting article. Now I know what a Peregrine Falcon is. But I may not want to have it as a pet since it is a carnivore. Looking forward to travel on this wild journey of yours.
